Hot apple juice with frozen blueberries
Feb. 15th, 2024 12:31 pmA low effort way to get a serve of relatively unprocessed fruit from long life ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 250mL UHT 100% apple juice box
a handful of frozen blueberries
2 teaspoons sugar
cinnamon, vanilla essence etc
Mix ingredients into a mug. Microwave on high for 90 seconds, stir, then microwave until you're sure you won't get diphtheria from the berries(*). Add a splash of cold water.
The blueberries are like boba, I eat them with a spoon as I drink.
This also tastes pretty good without the blueberries but then it's just spiced apple juice. UHT apple juice tastes MUCH worse than proper apple juice but keeps well in small quantities.
(*)Which the internet says means make sure they've come to the boil, or been at over 85°C for at least 1 minute. Also, my spellcheck insists it's 'diphtheria' but that looks so odd now that I stare at it.
